Lucid isn’t afraid of getting a little dirty.
The California EV maker just unveiled a concept called the Gravity X that will make its public debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday. The prototype turns the company’s first SUV into an off-road-ready beast.
The Gravity X
The Gravity X, which Lucid wants to be called the “Gravity Cross” in spoken conversation, represents an exciting change of pace for the company. The SUV’s sleek design hasn’t been radically altered, but some key modifications and accessories give it a much more rugged character than before.

The Lucid Gravity X concept
The Gravity X may look just like the base model at a glance, but a close study reveals just how different the two EVs are. For starters, the concept rides much higher than the production version and features a wider track. The vehicle, which is finished in satin Astral Drift, also features redesigned front and rear bumpers with integrated tow hooks and skid plates to protect its underbody while traversing rough roads. Rounding out the exterior changes are an all-new roof rack that includes LED spotlights and a set of custom six-spoke wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.
